Reflections of semester 1 Active Learning Grade 8

During Active Learning this year I try every class to give my best.  I am always willing to be a part of a team and follow what the team leader says. I prepare myself by having my gym strip on and being on time for class.  I am willing and usually excited to try all activities.

My best days are when we are doing activities that I enjoy, like, badminton and being in the weight room.  Days I struggle with are when I don`t feel 100% and have low energy.  I know this is because I may have been out at Youth group the night before or up a little later than I should have been.  My disability is a challenge but it does not stop me from trying hard and participating in all activities in whatever way that I can.

I feel that I contribute to the overall success of the class because I try to come with a positive attitude everyday.  I know from my life that anything is possible if you try hard.  I try to be positive and strong but I know that I can complain sometimes.  I am glad that Mr. Neufeld keeps pushing me while smiling at me!  :)

I love the other students in the class and I have some fiends in the class as well.  I find that we chat and really care about each other by offering encouraging words to each other.

Fitness days were challenging the first few times and I admit I didn`t like it but now I like being able to push myself.  I can see myself getting better at basic fitness like running.  I really enjoy stations because we get to do different things and not the same thing for 40 minutes straight.  I have fitness goals of getting stronger and fitter.  I would like to improve my cardio.

Leadership is setting a good example by trying your hardest and pushing others in a  positive way to do their best.  I feel the best leaders in our class are Rashmital and many other Grade 9s. I find that they push you and don`t want you to fail.

I am most proud of the fact that I can do activities this year that I could not do before like the hill run and the circuits.

  1. Yay Kira... perfect. you got the blog up and wrote a great post. I have been very proud of your this year. You started with a bang giving everything a full effort... then your body got a bit beat up and you needed to pause for a bit... I think one of our goals together is make sure we push for improvement but also listen to our bodies so we don't end up hurt again. One of the great things about the human body is that it can get used to many things (some bad for us like McD's... some good like fitness) and I hope you continue to find new strength as you work out a new fitness level. Your willingness to give everything a fair shot has been a great inspiration to me and your smile is an awesome addition to our class environment. Keep it up! What letter grade do you think reflects your effort so far this year?
